Los Angeles native and R&B megastar, Ty Dolla $ign, is back after a 3 year album hiatus with his latest project, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign. This album has that classic Dolla $ign sound that we know and love and have become so familiar with over the years as he completely dominated not only the R&B game, but the pop music in general. On this album he does what he does best, show off his amazing voice and talent, and his insane versatility. The album was officially announced on October 7th, as Ty took to Twitter and Tweeted out a cryptic Tweet saying “3̷2̷ T̷C̷O̷ S̷P̷O̷R̷D̷ M̷U̷B̷L̷A̷ E̷H̷T̷”. Which backwards reads, THE ALBUM DROPS OCT 32.”

This whole album is Dolla $ign flaunting his relevance in the game. During the album Ty wastes no time to remind us how dominant he can be and how important he is for the community. The title of the album itself is a huge flex. Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, symbolizing that he is a sought after artist that a ton of artists want on their songs. The biggest flex without a doubt, is the features he has on this album. He boasts off his status and his popularity with the amount of big names he has on this album. Features include: Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Quavo, Anderson .Paak, Post Malone, Young Thug, Future, Gunna, Roddy Ricch, Mustard, Big Sean, Jhene Aiko, Lil Durk, Nicki Minaj, Kehlani, 6LACK, Thundercat, Musiq Soulchild, Tish Hyman, FKA twigs, and Skrillex. Some of which are on multiple tracks.

Although the album has that classic Dolla $ign sound, it doesn’t mean the lyrics and the meanings are the same. Ty really shows his maturity on the album as he speaks on real life things that go on in his life. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Unlike his older music which was mostly about money and women. He said in an interview with Vulture, “I was intentionally trying to not make club songs talking about hoes and bitches and all the sh*t I used to talk about, I was trying to, like, talk about my life, and what it is now, and really do something different with it. I got a daughter going to high school this year, and she’s paying attention, and all her friends are paying attention, so I can’t talk as crazy or do the crazy sh*t that I used to do.” Ty is doing a great job being a role model for his daughter and being a responsible parent, as he stated saying: “My daughter comes first in any situation.”

Featuring Ty Dolla $ign is out now on all mainstream streaming platforms. The album is 25 tracks and 1 hour long. Go give it a spin now!
